Psychoanalyst and philosopher Adam Phillips stated, ''[A]nyone who could maintain state of happiness, given the state of the world,is living in a delusion. I have to disagree with this statement, anyone who believe in God should know that long as you have a relationship with him you will always be at peace. I believe that everything is a mind thing, so if you allow your mind to worry, doubt, stress, etc about the things that going on around you or in life then you will forever be unhappy about the things going on in life that you have  no control over. What Phillips statement mean to me is that people living in this chaotic world should be unhappy. I think people should be positive even when there are bad things going on in life.
So many bad things are occurring now a days, from shootings in schools, shootings in church, shootings in movies, shootings in malls, etc. You dont hear anything good anymore, but in the midst of all the trouble and bad things thats going on in the world, There is nothing to big for God, and i feel that once you take God out the equation bad things happen. Although we as people dont like bad news especially if it involves a member from our family, but we as Christians have to seek God and know that he will see us through these tough times, and even tho sometimes we may fall short and may question why certain things happen, but we have to put our trust fully in God.
Enshrined in the Declaration of Independence are the unalienable rights to ''Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness.'' The founders believed that a nation should guarantee its citizens physical safety and freedom, pre conditions for the right to life and liberty. As for happiness, they understood that while a government can create the necessary conditions including the right to vote and to worship freely ultimately it falls to individuals to be happy. Which of course, begs one of humankind's  oldest, most vexing questions: What is happiness? Any attempt to define the word draws on the techniques of our major religious and ethical systems. ( Rosen, pg 523) Happiness comes from within its up to you if you let the things of the world affect your inner peace or happiness.
