Aspiring novelists are often told that they must grab readers by the first chapter ideally, by the end of the first scene or even the first page. We readers are busy people, and even when we aren't busy we're being bombarded constantly with potential distractions. A novelist who expects complete strangers to spend ten or fifteen or twenty hours reading her work has the formidable task of making us want to put aside everything else in our lives except for the book in front of us. In that first chapter, she must convince us to read the second one. She must convince us that our time spent reading her novel will be put to good use. So those opening pages are crucial. ( Weiland, 333-334)
I think movies should also have a good opening, interesting commercial , or trailer to get people interested in wanting to go see the movie. I enjoy watching animated, action, thriller/suspense, and romantic movies. Being that technology is all around us there isn't no way possible you dont see commercials, ads or trailers whether you are on YouTube listening to music, watching TV, or at the movies. Even when you are heading out in your car you hear radio stations talking about movies, and the radio commercials may play a clip from a movie that is coming out, also when you out shopping specifically for a tv, they are always playing some type of movie on there best screens that get your attention. Im a Marvel fan I like all Marvel films but I must say Thor and Black Panther are my two favorites so of course I choose the new Marvel movie that is coming out April 27th that I must go see. https://youtu.be/ATpJBunjGJg
